Field Service Engineering Manager
Crystal Broadband Networks, Inc. seeking a Service Engineering Manager for employment at our main office located at 5860 Main Street, Clay City, KY 40312.
Duties:
- Service Engineering Manager is responsible for leading, planning, directing, and executing the installation, testing operation, maintenance, and repair of communication system and equipment in deployment of services to new areas and upgrading services in existing areas.
- Estimate the costs for system or component implementation and operation.
- Manage design and construction of hybrid fiber-coax, fiber-to-the-home systems for the transport of high-speed data.
- Manage and direct the installation of equipment including OLT, routers, nodes amplifiers and line extenders to maintain strength of communications transmissions.
- Responsible for maintenance of plant head end and balance of plant to ensure good picture quality.
- Supervise field technicians and evaluate performance and ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards in network design and deployment.
- Maintain proper levels of inventory of telecommunications equipment for customer premises equipment, facilities, access networks and backbone networks.
- Provide technical assistance with administration of channel mapping and configuration of digital set top box.
- Monitor and analyze system performance in a 24/7 environment for overall functioning of the communication system and technical service.
- Monitor and analyze network traffic, security, signal, and noise levels and directing the physical inspection of network cables and perform failure analysis assessing transmission characteristics, locating faults, conducting tests and measurements of fiber plant to ensure performance.
- Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance.
- Research and develop system upgrades, when necessary.
Qualifications
- Must have bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, communications, electronics, or a related field and a minimum of 60 months of experience as in telecommunications project management or in a relevant field.

Fiber Optic Technician
Crystal Broadband Networks, Inc. seeking a Fiber Optic Technician for employment at our main office located at 5860 Main Street, Clay City, KY 40312.
Duties:
- To deliver services to customer premises; to analyze, locate and repair any technical field problems as requested by customer work order.
- To install, disconnect, relocate cable/fiber outlets, install splitters, converters, decoders, and other cable hardware at the subscriber’s premises.
- To locate and correct system defects occurring in the plant up to and including the line extenders/amplifiers.
- To inspect, monitor, test and adjust cable/fiber transmission and distribution systems.
- To repair or replace faulty cables, power supplies, amplifiers and other associated transmission and distribution equipment.
- Responsible for Headend upkeep and maintenance of the cable system.
- Perform all duties of an Installer/Repair Technician on cable/fiber system.
- Perform periodic signal leakage inspection throughout the cable system.
- Perform general repair and maintenance operations as needed and replace old or damaged equipment as required such as service drops, lockboxes, amplifiers, taps and associated hardware.
- Ensures that all Company property in use is properly utilized and maintained.
- Ensures timely completion and resolution of all work orders assigned and/or proper notification of delays.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of working experience as a cable/fiber technician.
- Experience in installation of cable/fiber line, troubleshooting cable/fiber and line issues.
- Experience in handling Headend equipments and excellent ability to diagnose and resolve cable/fiber related issues.
- Experience in construction, splicing, fusing, testing and maintenance of fiber optic cables will be an added advantage.
- Must have Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
