Sr Broadband Network Manager

Crystal Broadband Networks, Inc. seeking a Sr Broadband Network Manager for employment at our main office located at 5860 Main Street, Clay City, KY 40312.

Duties:

• Design, engineer, and deploy robust, scalable, and secure fiber-optic networks leveraging X-PON, XG-PON, and XGS-PON technologies.
• Identify and deploy suitable fixed wireless technologies to extend network reach beyond fiber serviceable areas.
• Plan and execute capacity upgrades to integrate 100 Gig interconnections with IXPs, backbone carriers, and data centers.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
• Upgrade network infrastructure to support 10 Gig connectivity for residential and commercial customers.
• Configure all devices on the company’s network monitoring tool “Zabbix” to proactively identify and resolve network issues.
• Configure and program Mikrotik router to ensure optimal network performance and redundancy.
• Perform network risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Establish BGP peering relationships with transit and peering providers.
• Optimize network resource utilization, including IPv4 address space, to maximize efficiency.
• Analyze network performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve network performance and reliability.
• Oversee network operations, including fault management, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Implement network optimization strategies to enhance network performance and reduce operational costs.
• Coordinate with network operations teams to ensure seamless network service delivery.
• Lead and mentor network engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and career development opportunities.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
• Define and implement performance metrics to measure team effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and security best practices.
• Use of NMS tools, GPON, FTTx, GPON OLT, ONU, X-PON, XG-PON, XGS-PON, CMTS, OTDR, Power Meter, VFL, Fiber splicing, Network Security, BGP, Network Engineering, Network Operations, Network Capacity Planning, Project Management.

Minimum requirements:

Education: Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electronics and Communication or related field.
Experience: 5 years of experience in the position offered or a related position.

Special skills:

Aforementioned 5 years of experience must include at least 12 months in the following:
NMS tools, GPON, FTTx, GPON OLT, ONU, X-PON, XG-PON, XGS-PON, CMTS, OTDR, Power Meter, VFL, Fiber splicing, Network Security, BGP, Network Engineering, Network Operations, Network Capacity Planning, Project Management.

Fiber Optic Technician

Crystal Broadband Networks, Inc. seeking a Fiber Optic Technician for employment at our main office located at 5860 Main Street, Clay City, KY 40312.

Duties:

1. To deliver services to customer premises; to analyze, locate and repair any technical field problems as requested by customer work order.
2. To install, disconnect, relocate cable/fiber outlets, install splitters, converters, decoders, and other cable hardware at the subscriber’s premises.
3. To locate and correct system defects occurring in the plant up to and including the line extenders/amplifiers.
4. To inspect, monitor, test and adjust cable/fiber transmission and distribution systems.
5. To repair or replace faulty cables, power supplies, amplifiers and other associated transmission and distribution equipment.
6. Responsible for Headend upkeep and maintenance of the cable system.
7. Perform all duties of an Installer/Repair Technician on cable/fiber system.
8. Perform periodic signal leakage inspection throughout the cable system.
9. Perform general repair and maintenance operations as needed and replace old or damaged equipment as required such as service drops, lockboxes, amplifiers, taps and associated hardware.
10. Ensures that all Company property in use is properly utilized and maintained.
11. Ensures timely completion and resolution of all work orders assigned and/or proper notification of delays.

Qualifications:

1. 3+ years of working experience as a cable/fiber technician.
2. Experience in installation of cable/fiber line, troubleshooting cable/fiber and line issues.
3. Experience in handling Headend equipments and excellent ability to diagnose and resolve cable/fiber related issues.
4. Experience in construction, splicing, fusing, testing and maintenance of fiber optic cables will be an added advantage.
5. Must have Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
